brief introduction
An air filter is a device that purifies air. If dust, sand particles, and various impurities in the air directly enter the engine cylinder for combustion, they will accelerate the wear of the engine, thereby reducing its service life and even causing serious damage to the engine.
classification
Air filters are divided into two types: dry and wet. Dry filters are the most commonly used ones on sedan models, and their materials are filter paper or non-woven fabric. In order to increase the air passage area, most filter elements are processed into many small wrinkles. When the filter is slightly damaged, compressed air can be used to blow it clean. When the filter is severely damaged, a new core should be replaced in a timely manner. Generally speaking, there is no accurate replacement time for air filters, which is determined based on the environment in which the vehicle is used. Please refer to the vehicle maintenance manual for details.
Maintenance methods
1. Take out the main filter element from the air filter housing, gently tap the end cover of the filter element, and shake off the dust on the filter element.
2. Blow dry compressed air with a pressure not exceeding 0.5MPa from the inside out.
3. After cleaning the dust 5 times, the main filter element should be replaced together with the safety filter element. If any damage is found to the filter element, it should be replaced.
4. Air filters with dust collection boxes should clean the dust from the boxes thoroughly
